Rainsford also won "the game" so he therefor got to sleep in General Zaroff's bed. This song is about disappointment, and I think it matches that moment when Rainsford hears hounds coming after him then the next thing all is quiet. He thinks that he had killed the General but when he learns that it was Ivan instead, I'm pretty sure I would be drenched in disappointment. Not be afraid, or angry, or sad. When he is swimming in the ocean trying to wake someone on the ship up so they can come back for Rainsford, he is alone and as he is yelling probably thinking why no one is waking up till the ship is too far away. This song is asking what took "someone" so long to find him. In Rainsford's case, no one has.

General Zaroff is the singer in this song. In this song, she is basically scaring everyone with her insanity. At first she is talking about diamonds and gold, then about a house that is awake filled with shadows and monsters. I feel that this song is perfect for Rainsford because in the song it says that "he is married to the game" as in hunting in this situation. And that he isn't afraid, and won't let "anyone" get to him.
