The area of conflict started when Lucia saw the photo and heard he was engaged, at that moment she began to beg for them to be together instead of him and Anja. On page number 21/22 he mentions how Anja stops speaking to him; leaving the reader feeling concerned. He finally escaped his relations with Lucia, and found someone genuine. Apparently she begins feeling jealous and worried. "Lucia's an old girlfriend who won't leave me alone.
