I'm Chris Leyva here today with our coach solo,
PE teacher and soccer head coach,
solo my first question for used to describe your job as of now?
well as a teacher I teach sophomores 4 periods a day sometimes more if I have a prep which I do now and so I teach team sports from August through May and then I coached in the afternoons with the varsity boys and actually JV and freshman there on my role 65 boys and soccer season is now it started so weird we're here from sunup to sundown.

Alright tell me about how you got into your line of work?

well with the college play soccer recruited by a couple schools and end up at a school that prepare me to become a teacher through undergraduate work in physical education as my major and then my coaches recommended that I would become a coach because after college there was no professionals or Semi-Pro you had to go out of the country to tell you that and I didn't want to do that so I end up as a p e major PE teacher and coach.

   Tell me about your childhood?

Start playing soccer when I was 7 in ayso. Went through High School playing a so and then Club started when I was in high school I played for a team and she know I grew up in Montclair California and then I ended up playing for a club team in Chino. I don't lie you actually but it was considered Club I was in high school guys.

when we when you were younger what did you want to be when you grew up?

    soccer player

and then was there events or people that influence your career choice?

my college coaches actually encourage me to come a coach that was it Captain pretty good leader I think player College to high school actually in college so

     Did you enjoy school?

I did I wasn't the best my sister was so I had to follow my sister lead on education being you know she was just phenomenal student Straight A's and My mass and probably my science is little bit but in the end I was you know pretty good student a b student just not straight A's

what was one of the biggest challenges you faced?

injury, knee injuries in college taught me how important education was college cuz I was pretty good player and thought I was going to maybe go pro but to knee injuries in two surgeries I knew that I better plan for something else career-wise and that's kind of led me to where I am now towards the end of my career after 34 years so I only got about 3 years left of coaching and then maybe about 5 or 6 of teaching.

       What was your greatest achievement?

again it's sports for me but it's Southern California soccer team tryout to go to England when I was 15 and I was probably one of the best experiences Had led me to see the world number one you got to Europe and played soccer over there and found out real quick we weren't that good here in the United States compared to the cheer up in any way we were just coming late so.

How do you want to be remembered?

I hope I remembered as a good coach good person you know I care about people.I wasn't influence one way or another and some type of discipline or preparing them for life I hope I can get guys can say that

and then last question what wisdom do you have for future generation?

Give it all you got when you're there specially you and your young I think I did for the most part I probably should have tried a little harder in school I think I did what I had to do maybe a little more better but I don't think I gave it all in the classroom so I look back and I wish kids would understand that it's hard for the kids understand hard for me to understand it give it your all and every class and no matter what you do what job you get. Be the best you can be I guess the best one

and then anything else you'd like to say

I hope I finish next few years on a good note with the team with the guys I think we got good guys here so I feel like we have a good chance of that.
