Then, he does not reveal Bruno’s father’s horrible cruelty to Bruno even when indirectly given the chance to spoil his enemy’s relationship with his Son. Following which, he is beaten to death by Lieutenant Kotler, which we assume, as he is not mentioned in the rest of the book. Despite knowing he would not be appreciated for his act of kindness, Pavel still helped Bruno and protected him from learning the cruel truth. These examples show that he is a very wholehearted and good man, and therefore I can consider Pavel to be a hero.

He helped Bruno with his injury even though he is a jew and he is willing to take the risk to help him when he would be tortured for doing so. He did not tell Bruno the truth about what his cruel father is doing and instead he helped the son of his greatest enermy. So I consider pevel to a true hero as he has a really big heart.
