Relatively easy country to get into/popular place to travel to, learn the language of etc. 
Western - some more cultural similarities. 
Draw from some of our own experiences in praying for them. Caring while on home assignment. Violent Christian persecution, church attacks. Restrictions on importing bibles to Vietnam. Christian children often can be restricted in their education opportunities, and access to medical services. 

Opportunities: sharing the gospel with those who have never heard it before.
