In Tet holiday, I would focus on family gatherings, preparing special meals, and maybe participating in local Tet festivities. Engaging in traditional practices like giving and receiving lucky money would also enhance the spirit of the celebrations.Last Tet might have been more subdued due to various circumstances, like health concerns or travel restrictions.Celebrations could have been limited to virtual gatherings or smaller, more intimate family settings. This year, I hope to participate in larger gatherings and traditional rituals, making it more dynamic and joyful.I would ideally spend Tet with family and close friends, sharing meals and stories, and immersing myself in the customs and traditions that make it special.

Tet, or Lunar New Year, is the most important celebration in Vietnam. It marks the arrival of spring and the beginning of a new year according to the lunar calendar. People clean and decorate their homes, buy flowers, and prepare traditional foods like “banh chung” to celebrate. On New Year’s Eve, families gather for a big meal, followed by firecrackers to drive away bad luck.

On the first day of Tet, people visit relatives to wish them health and happiness. Children receive “li xi” (lucky money) for good fortune in the year ahead. The streets are full of excitement, with dragon dances and cultural performances.

Tet is a time for family, reflection, and hope for a better future. It strengthens bonds and helps people start the new year with joy and optimism.
