Selling matcha at the event offered me hands-on experience in entrepreneurship, allowing me to develop valuable skills like budgeting, marketing, and customer service. This aligns with SDG 8’s goal of providing decent work opportunities that promote skill development and self-employment. By learning how to manage the responsibilities of running a booth—from handling customer inquiries to keeping up with high demand—I gained confidence in my abilities as an entrepreneur. These skills are essential for future ventures and represent the kind of self-growth and productivity that SDG 8 promotes.

The election committee’s work aligns with the core elements of SDG 16, which calls for accountable and transparent institutions. It was crucial to ensure that all candidates, regardless of their background or popularity, had an equal opportunity to present their platforms and engage with the student body. By overseeing the election process, the committee played a role in upholding the principles of fairness and equal representation, which are foundational to building strong democratic institutions.

First and foremost, my work in the InnovateX committee contributed to SDG 4: Quality Education. SDG 4 aims to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education for all and to promote lifelong learning opportunities. Through InnovateX, we provided final-year students with an opportunity to showcase their projects to a wide audience, including professors, industry professionals, and their peers. The projects presented reflected the knowledge, skills, and innovation students had developed throughout their academic journey. As a committee member, I worked to make sure every student had a platform to share their ideas, receive feedback, and learn from others’ work, which reinforced a commitment to learning and excellence within our academic community.
