Parental guidance is very important to shape and mold the child's future. Parents are among the most important people in the lives of their children. Parents instinct is to protect them and provide as much as possible for their children . Parents play the biggest role in children's development. This development including physical, social, financial and career development. But as parents they cannot just fully control what they want for their children as their children have their own opinion.

Parents have no rights to control the lives of people above 16 years old. The first point to oppose this statement is the people above 16 years old is not matured enough. Maturity cannot be measured at a specific age. However, children below the age of 16 are mostly not matured enough to be recognize as an adult. Referring to Oxford Dictionary, adult means fully grown or developed. In Cambridge Dictionary, an adult is defined as a person or animal that has grown to full size and strength. To strengthen the point given, a news stated an 18 years old girl elopes with her boyfriend is Lagos. The police in Lagos are on the trail of the teenage girl, Taiwo Olakunle , who allegedly ran away from home and is believed to be with the suspected lovers. Olakunle's case is the second of such in 6 weeks. Elopes means is run away secrectly to get married. This show us that people above 16 years old still need their parents guidance so that they do not make bad decisions.

Other than that, children above 16 years of age are easy to get influenced by peers or their surroundings. Peer influence is when you choose to do something you would not otherwise do because you want to feel accepted and valued by your friends. They would do anything even though it is wrong and are ready to face the consequences of their doings as long as they can get along with their friends. The people who easily get influenced by their friends is a person who have low self esteem. Low self esteem does not only occur at a very young age but also exist among teenagers and even adults. Evidence shows drug abuse among youth aged 19 and below amounted to 8,732 people. ” said Dato Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi in a question and answer session in Dewan Negara. Hence, parents should keep an eye on their children's behaviour and what they do, so that they will not be involved in negative things.

On the other hand, parents should not over control their children's career path. At that particular age, a child will start proceeding their life towards their ambitions and future careers. They will start planning ahead their future based on their interests and passion. Parents do not have rights to control and shape a child's future. A child's life will not forever be under their parents, their future is theirs to decide. Parents will always want the best for their children and end up planning a child's future without noting their child's opinion most often will cause the child to endure stress and pressure. Especially to those who's will are against their parents'. Statistics shows that 70% of Malaysians are stressed at work. The lack of incentives or appreciation in the career itself causes frustration to them. From here, it is as clear as day that stress can be caused from over control from parents themselves. The right way is for parents to guide and support their child's career path instead of controlling them.

In conclusion, to control the lives of people above 16 years old have the advantages and disadvantages. Based on the examples above, we can see that they are not matured enough and easy to get influenced by peers. On the other hand, parents cannot over-controlled on children decisions. Parents are responsible for bringing children into this world and it is responsible for instilling good behaviour in them . Moreover, children are like sponges which very easily absorb what is taught to them. So parents should train their children to face the world reality.

Parent and children are related to each other, every children has their own parent. Parent are responsible for their children action whether it is good or bad. But parents have no rights to control their children when they reach above 16 years old. This matter has it own advantages and disadvantages.

First of all, according to Malaysian law Akta Dewasa 1971 stated that in section 4, "age below adult for boy and girl is limited to 18 years old and every boy and girl who reach 18 years old are an adult as a Malaysia". Malaysia constitution state that people below 18 still need be guide by their parent. If that person below 18 years old caught commit crime they will be convicted of a minor underage court. For example, when the underage child are doing crime such as taking drug they will not be punish as an adult but they will be sent to juvenile school.

Next point, children under 18 years old are at rebellion phase, thus parent need to educate and be strict to them with proper guidance to shape their children with good manners. For example, children are inexperience in life and they are expose to danger and easy to be influence by negative things like smoking, taking 🤬 and involved in crime. Therefore parent have to be responsible by guiding their children to the right path. In addition the children under 18 years old can't manage their emotion, so they run from home to seek freedom. Report from Polis DiRaja Malaysia (PDRM) on 21 November 2017 a girl 14 year old girl is believed to have run away with her boyfriend while staying at her grandfather's house. That teenager eloped from home because they want to live together with her boyfriend. From it his problem the people below 18 still need guidance and protection from parent.

On the other hand, children above 16 years old can make their own decision, the reason of this is to train them to be independent, so they can prepare themselves to go out to the real world by not depend on their parents. The parent should give children the right to voice out their opinion. For example, parent should let their children to choose their favorite course or university when they want to continue their education to next level. When the parent give chances to their child to make a decision or give them freedom in whatever they want to do, so they can learn by the time and gain new experience and learn from mistake. Albert Einstein have said that anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new.

As a conclusion, according to the local law, children are not considered an adult if they are under 16 years and need to be guided by their parents. Moreover, children under 18 are mostly childish and at what so called at a rebellion phase. Therefore, parents are responsible to educate them strictly to avoid their children from involving in dangerous situations and crimes. On the other hand, parents should give freedom to their children to explore the world so that they can gain experience and be mature.

Being controlled by definition means that a person is being influences by someone else to decide or do something. Parents nowadays control their child since they were born in order to educate and support them before they were considered adult and have their own life. The statement "Parents have no rights to control the lives of people above 16 years old" has its own advantage such as people can learn to make their own decision and disadvantages such as the child lacks experience and are not matured enough at 16 years old.

First of all, people generally are inexperienced in life at 16 years old. They might exposed to danger and unhealthy activities that does not have benefits. For example, teenagers are usually easy to be influenced by delinquent such as taking 🤬, smoking and hangout until late night. Other than that, children at 16 years old usually curious about new things in life and sometimes rebel against their parents. This is because they were not controlled by their parents carefully. For example, child have their own rebellion phase at the age of 15-18, in this phase they will always disagree with their parents. So, in this case parents shouldn't let their child do their own things, they should be strict with them in order to brighten their child's future.

Next, people above 16 years old is not matured enough to live by their own. They can't support their life on their own. For example, according to Malaysian Law stated that 18 years old is the age of adult. This shows that people under 18 years old is not matured enough and its breaking the rule of Malaysian Law under “Akta Umur Dewasa 1971”. People that are 16 years old are still not considered as adult. This is because according to Oxford Dictionary the definition of adult is a person who is fully grown or developed. For example, if people under 18 years old wants to open a bank account they still need their parents approval and signature.

In the other hand, parents should not control the lives of people of 16 and above in the case of choosing what they should do in their own future they should learn to make their own decisions. Among the aspects of what a children's that are 16 and above's future consists of are their studies, occupations, and even marriage. These aspects are very important for the parent's children because they determine the future of their own kids. Parents should give their children opportunity in order to make their own decisions in these cases. If parents were to interfere or their children's decisions in this case, their children may either not like what they are studying what their parents should make them learn, they may not be satisfied with their work life because of what their parents want them to work as or even sad as their parents force their children to marry someone they do not want. Children at this age have the rights to decide on what they want to do with their life from this point of their life and so on. As an example, In Malaysia students at the age of 16 have to make a decision to pick which stream to study in for their Sijil Pengajian Malaysia (SPM). If their parents force them to go in the science stream instead of the accounting stream that the kid wants to go study in, it will leave the student helpless as they need to study something they are not interested and. This will make their children vulnerable to getting bad grades in their SPM as they do not have enough qualifications in to get into university as a result. Another example would be a parent forcing their children to marry a certain someone. Usually this happens when a parent wants something that benefits them and the other parent too. This is a greedy decision made by both parents as they may make their children lead a miserable marriage.

In a nutshell, the statement "parents have no rights to control the lives of people above 16 years old" have their own pros and cons. The pro mentioned above is people need to learn to make their own decisions at young age. While the con are people above 16 years old are not matured enough and do not consider as an adult. Finally, the lack of experience also the con mentioned above.

Aina,pyqa,amirul,sabir

In this 21 first century, young generation nowadays prefer more freedom in their life. Such wish then become major problem in society. The teenagers now are vulnerable in committing crimes in the community. Who is to blame to this activity? Does the parent know that their role is to be an example for their children to avoid such crime? Do they even know their control towards their children activity? Parent have their rights to control the life of people above 16 years old. The main factor is parent have bigger influence for the teenager’s action when they become an adult.

First of all, the parents have every legal right and responsibilities to their children. For example, a child can’t have more than two legal parents at a time. In fact, if the parents are divorced, the child itself could not choose on which side they would prefer to live with. Right to the legal custody, meaning is the ability to make major decisions about the child’s health, education, and religious upbringing. For example, if the children is under 18 years old they need to believes in their parent’s religion instead believing in other religion.

Besides that, an adult is a person who is fully grown up or developed. Judging by the Malaysia’s law, an adult is a person who has already passed the age of 18 years old. Therefore, a person who is below 16 is not considered an adult and is fully supported by their parents. They are prohibited to anything illegal underage of 18 years old. Teenagers must ask for permission to do anything to avoid the consequences of being an outsider. Thus, these will help to prevent themselves from bad elements.

However, there are cons to this aspect. The parent not always have the rights toward their children action during certain thing. When talking about career, the parent should not over-control their children occupation that they choose in their life. Sure, parent have a major impact on their kid’s ability to achieve success, but many parental ’s behaviour will actually impede a child’s future career path. For example, a teenager have passion toward art and they decide to become a freelance artist. In the eyes of the parent, as a freelancer would be a huge risk for their child to make living out of it and they will prevent their child to continue on that path. Furthermore, over-stressing their child to keep up their parent expectation can lead to them frustrated in life. The pressure that they face will cause them to feel unhappy doing their work which then cause depression. For example, when a child did their very best on their math test and yet they receive result that does not satisfy their parent. They know their parent will lecture them about getting a good mark and some even spank their child.

In conclusion, all of the statement stated above have their own advantages and disadvantages itself. We need to reconsider on both perspectives, either on the parent’s side or the student’s side. A little bit too much affection could be suffocating for the child, but if the parents neglected their own...
