*It takes place is Las Vegas Nevada and there are 3 main characters. The story follows the interesting life of Bernadette, Heidi, and Mama. Mama is mentally disabled and Heidi is her daughter. Bernadette is their neighbor that has been like Heidi's grandmother.  Heidi goes on a journey to get more information about her past and it ends up changing her life forever.  
*I picked this book because I was told that it was a good book with a good message behind it.  
*The most interesting part of the book in my opinion is the way that the little "family" fits together.
