Opeth's use of odd time signatures, lengthy compositions and influences of folk, jazz and classical music made them a stand out for me. Guitarist Michael Akerfeldt is one of my biggest influences as a songwriter, he proved that you don't need to be the fastest shredder in the scene to be a good guitarist.
