will refer to a dietitian to discuss food insecurities and the normalcy of gaining weight with pregnancy.

breastfeeding/lactation benefits:

I would recommend breastfeeding because babies who are breastfed have lower chances of getting illnesses and diseases. I will also provide packets and pamphlets on all the benefits if the patient is interested.

for difficultly latching: I would advice the patient to massage her breast when trying to feed the baby so that some milk drips out into the baby's mouth, signaling feeding time.

I would attempt to feed safely in the prone position, making sure I am watching for signs of intolerance.

The patient has an Ileus. For the patients' plan of care moving forward, I would delay any further attempts to oral feed. I would then suggest the Enteral tube feeding method.

As a nurse, nutritionally I would recommend the client try out the Dash and Mediterranean diet. I would explain that the dash diet is high in fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and low-fat dairy products. it is low in saturated fat, red meat, sweets, and sugar-sweetened beverages. I would then explain that the Mediterranean diet consists of an increase in the consumption of unsaturated fats, fruits, vegetables, and fish.

If the patient has any more questions I would refer them to a dietitian.

I would respond first by ensuring her that any weight gained is healthy and important to her quality of life. I would then seek the help of the hospitals psych unit before going any further
