Song Quote - 1 Price Tag, by: Jessie j

Jessie J expresses how much money doesn't matter when she sings: "We're paying with love tonight
It's not about the money money money
We don't need your money money money
We just wanna make the world dance
Forget about the price tag
Ain't about the uh cha-ching cha-ching". In this song, she says that money shouldn't be the main thing that brings you happiness and this idea relate to Thoreau because he feels the same way. Thoreau never feels like paying his taxes should be required and this therefore, relates to the transcendental idea that money isn't necessary to really live.

In this photo was taken while I was in the process of taking family photos by Mount Timpanogos. This was such a special moment because we were basically in the middle of no where and we were so happy and at peace. I came to realize that all that I need in life is my family and this place. So I took a picture and cherished the moment like Thoreau did.

The family can only fit the bare essentials of life into their house because the space is limited. This is a great example of something that Thoreau would have done if he lived during this time period. Living in a home like this and choosing this lifestyle over the normal style of living with more than what is needed.

Emerson viewed the world in its entirety...focusing not just on science and nature, but how they connect to the soul and to the human experience. When the article discusses that Emerson wanted to live life in the moment, he was preaching that observing phenomenons in nature can make us appreciate our own existence. Emerson believed that nature lived within us and that if we chose to follow the transcendentalist lifestyle that we would be able to access our true selves.

Both Emerson and Thoreau are talked about in this article. The idea talked about in this article mentions that Transcendentalism is a progressive way of living life and this shows how Emerson and Thoreau thought thought more deeply than the typical person. Their ideas contributed to the idea of social Darwinism, which is a fairly recent topic. Emerson and Thoreau contributed a lot to the history and present day of our country.

This podcast speaks on the basics of Transcendentalism and how it affected American history specifically. This philosophy influenced political and social events such as: the Abolition of slavery, the women's rights movement, and recent presidential campaigns. It touches on the idea that nature is the main plug into the world of Transcendentalism. This shows that much of what makes this idea unique is that Thoreau was willing to give up what most people had to live like this willingly. It was through his actions that led to the discovery of his ideas and the now well known topic of Transcendentalism.

Most of his song relates to nature and he compares it with his love, overall giving it a transcendental atmosphere. This is like the idea of we don't need much more than nature and love in our lives. Many people live in luxury without even knowing it. This lifestyle includes only what you as a human being need the most.

This idea of seeking our ideas that need to be expressed ties back into living differently than others.
