There is no preordained idea of success. The teachers sucess relays on the sucess of the student. to have preformed her job properly, or to establish a successful future for their students. if the student fails, the teacher fails with them. there may be outside factors to this failure but its the teachers job to secure sucess.

This word really stood out to me this chapter. In a way to the student and the teacher secure a future for each other. just like sucess they go hand in hand. A teachers security in the classroom will lead to the teacher security from the student in the future. The generations we teach will one day be in charge of the country and it is our job to prepare them for that time. we cannot have the idea of prerequisite skills but do our best to teach these skills. we secure their sucess they secure our future and the future of our country.

There is a constant flow in teaching. the teacher helps the student grow, and the student inspires the teacher. This is how culturally relevant educators teach, it is one fluid and connective movement of knowledge.

as an educator you need to care about the content your teaching. even if you do not, you have to make it believable that you do. content an context is what this job revolves around and as a culturally relevant teacher you need to provide content that will be easy for cultural scaffolding. One of the teachers did this in the book when she used an MC Hammer song in her lesson

Community is mentioned many times in this text. in this chapter its related to learning as a community, not just creating one in the classroom. This is now after the community has been created. Now is a chance to learn with your community. have your children engaged as much as possible with each other because literacy is a social structure .
