         <description><![CDATA[<div>North's Second Great Awakening began as an effort to defend Calvinism. The reformers were more evident in New England and they were successful in small-to-medium sized towns.          <description><![CDATA[<div>One utopian movement was the creation of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. These people are called Mormons and they were destined to spread itself worldwide. They decided to stay in Utah overcoming pioneer hardships.          <description><![CDATA[<div>The convention wanted for all men and women to be equal. Just as the Declaration of Independence says but not just men. One way they could be equal is if they gave women the right to vote. An other new creation were minstrel shows.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Both of these events movements relied on emotion and increased women membership in the church. During these awakenings new sects were develepod which caused more religious diversity. The second awakening tried to inspire reforms while the first did not.
