We brought it home, washed it with warm water, and set it out to dry in the sun. Avery and I searched the web for a few ideas. The rock I found was perfectly shaped for this campfire! They all weighed the same 0.2 oz. We created a launcher out of a cup, duct tape, and balloon! We took some data, measuring the distance for each type of Hershey Kiss. I created a lever to launch the items by using a taped down pencil over the top of the cup. The pencil held down two large straws with a taped down spoon at the end of the straws.  A spoon was used on two of the three catapults to hold and launch the items.  

My second launcher I also used a cup with rocks inside it to weigh it down. The lever I created was placed in the middle of the cup and was made of straws cut and taped together to launch the items.   
My third launcher used a cup that was upside with three straws that were in a tepee formation.  On top of the tepee there was another straw taped to it with a spoon with a rubber band on it.

I did three trials with each catapult launching a marshmallow, raisin, and a chocolate chip.  After launching the three items I measured the distance.  The farthest launch was by catapult number three with a distance of 92 inches for the raisin.  The marshmallow went the second farthest also with catapult three.  The worst launcher was launcher number two because it threw the items backwards.  This was  because the lever was straight back without an angle and that caused it to go backwards.
