On Writing: I've always enjoyed composition and journaling when I was younger. In high school, I would always write last minute papers and would never revise them. I found out quickly in undergrad that this was not the best strategy. Now that I am writing more technical and scientific pieces, I am still struggling to be cohesive, yet concise. I enjoy metaphors, flowing descriptive imagery, and attempts at humor. I find that I write best in pieces--late into the night, with coffee and headphones in.

On Writing: Writing is not normally my best subject in school but I normally don't mind to do it. I always seem to do my best writing late at night. I believe this is because there are less distractions at that time so I'm forced to sit down and write. My least favorite part of writing essays is normally the introduction because I find it hard to introduce the topics.

On Writing: I find myself more interested in what is being written more than the actual process of writing. Although, I do see the necessity in being able to express the content of what you are trying to say in a clear and effective manner. My experiences with writing in high school have largely been writing on topics not chosen of my own interest so I feel that this alienating aspect has, to some extent, negatively influenced my perspective on writing.
