You find out that a group of Russian terrorists have just killed 2,400 people in Washington DC. It turns out that the terrorists who are all dead, were working for the government of Brazil. And now we are at war with Russia! You’re next door neighbours are Americans, have lived on your street since you were born. Your friends with the next door neighbour’s kid and they go to your high school. You here your parents and many of your friends talking about how you feel unsafe with people of Russian heritage living on your street. They start saying incredibly racist things and begin vandalizing Russian student’s lockers and threaten to beat them up in class. Even some of the teachers start bullying Russian heritage students. There are rumors circulating that Russians eat babies in a delicious dish called Borscht... People are very angry and call the police and have the family arrested. If the pressure becomes something adults, teachers, and people I look up , such as my parents endorse, then I would probably join them in their activities. In this situation it seems like I have two choices, either be excluded for protecting those who are hated, or attempt to blend in with the mob. I might burn down the house, but only after exhausting every option that doesn't cause me permanent harm.
