Art Deco, sometimes referred to as Deco, is a style of visual arts, architecture and design that first appeared in France just before World War I. It influenced the design of buildings, furniture, jewellery, fashion, cars, cinemas, trains, ocean liners, and everyday objects such as radios and vacuum cleaners. It took its name, short for Arts Décoratifs, from the Exposition internationale des arts décoratifs et industriels modernes (International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts) held in Paris in 1925.

Surrealism art was meant to channel the unconscious mind and unlock the power of imagination. It was a cultural movement that began in Europe after World War 1. The "dream like" paintings were a way to dissociate from the war and the horrors that were seen. It was about pushing the social limitations that had been in place before the war.

His gaze is cold, haughty. She wears deerskin gloves and a cap, her neck wrapped in a soft shawl, and this clothing gives her an incredible charm.

He is driving a beautiful sports car, as if to claim his freedom and independence to society.

The 1920s art didn't just allow people to express their feelings through painting. The art inspired young designers, inventors, and artists to take a new look on the untamed market and to search for new takes on the latest hits in the music industry, new ways to advertise their inventions to gain popularity and consumers, and new ways to style clothes. The unique art that was based off of showing ones feelings more than hiding behind the beauty of the world like past art was refreshing and appealed to the new generation. It was a refining step that led to change everywhere. The entirety of the culture changed with the art. The community and the country washed out their old outdated ideas and brought in new refreshing ones. The art led the way into the new era.
