I'm a Mauritian currently living in New Zealand.

🔹 What am I studying?
I completed UG at Monash in 2017.
I majored in Analytics and Finance.

Just ETW2472

🔹 Why should we form teams?

Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.

Working in a team is a great way to share your knowledge and support each other.

I enjoy going on hikes when the weather's nice. Unfortunately, I get sunburnt pretty easily. The sun is pretty harsh down here.

My other hobby is avoiding skin cancer by chilling indoors and sleeping...

🤔 WHY ANALYTICS?

Back then, I had no idea what analytics, data mining, or machine learning was.

I was tasked to devise marketing strategies for various banking products during one of my internships. I had access to some database extracts and thought that they could form the basis for my strategies.

I manually derived insights from stats and graphs in Excel; at that moment, I thought to myself... Isn't there a program that can ingest all that data and help me out?

The Business Analytics major introduced concepts that would've been really useful back then...
✅ Dealing with large datasets.
✅ Generating insights.
✅ Using software to help uncover more insights.
✅ Understanding how AI/ML works.

Pitch:
I consider myself quite a technical person so hit me up if you need a techie or a numbers guy in your team.
I've got some experience with Office, MS Project and Tableau.
I'd say that my strengths are being able to lead a team, motivate my teammates, and understand complex business problems. I enjoy data visualisation very much although I'm not sure if I create aesthetically pleasing dashboards...

Goals:
My priority is to learn as much as possible from this unit. I don't mind a few failures along the way... that's the best way to learn! My ideal group would be one where we can have fun during this project and learn heaps while doing it.
HDs are not a must but are good to have :)
