I am Little Rock born and raised and graduated from Little Rock Central High. I am (secretly) a huge nerd. I love books, video games,   and history. I get very excited about my job and bring a lot of energy to the classroom. I am the oldest of ten and therefore am naturally very loud, please forgive me! 

When I look back  at my education and my reasons for becoming a teacher I think about two things, the wonderful teachers who saw me and encouraged me, and the teachers who made me feel like I would never be anything at all. I hold all of these teachers and their memories very dear. They are what reminds me every day of what kind of impact the right teacher, or even the wrong teacher at the right time can make. I promise to try my best to be one of the good ones. 

This will be my first year with the Lighthouse team and I am very excited for what is to come. Literature is my passion. Through literature scholars get to safely explore their identity, they are confronted with big ideas and dilemmas and through the characters get to learn a little about who they are. It is my mission to guide our scholars through the process of finding and developing their opinions. I aim to prepare my scholars to articulate themselves in a way that will allow them to be heard and respected beyond the walls of our school. My personal hobbies include, PC gaming, hiking, and shopping. This year our students will benefit from our Beyond The Wall program which allows us to take the scholars beyond the walls of the classroom to learn hands on. While we will not be in the classroom every single day, we will be in here a lot! This classroom has been designed to accommodate different learning and working styles.
