The picture book, Those Shoes is challenge by many stereotypes about poverty. For example the boy named Jeremy who is upset and angry at his grandma because he can't get new shoes. The author seems to suggest that you don't always need new things to make you happy and to fit in.

The meaning of the poem called poverty talks about how the government always promise people jobs and more opportunities to other people that are poor but all they do is just lie to them and don't do anything for them. For example in line 5 it says " The government promises jobs and infastrcture but they take our money for themselves undercover".

The book inspiration of the book The Outsiders is to show how two different gangs didn't get along and how one of the gangs were poor and always getting beat up by the gang that was richer and had better things than them. And how Ponyboy can always count on his brothers to help him out in life since their parents aren't around to each them what to do in life so they relied on each other. And the Scos thinks it's fine to mess with the poor kids.
