We started by giving ideas and thinking about how to build them. We next chose an idea and tried to build it. As we built, we realised parts that didn't work due to time, stability, and height, so changes were made. We ended up with a very nice structure. We didn't have roles that were very solidified or unchangeable. We all played certain roles at different times.

Collaboration looks like many people doing building upon each other's work, and sounds like discussion.

Planning helped us identify the pros and cons of each idea, and to adapt when problems arose.

I learned that I want to be able to get my ideas into the project. For example, during the building of the structure, I wanted to be able to input my idea of a structure to the group.

I would like to work on having more roles that people are suited for. As the school semester progresses, we will get to know each other better and this will be easier.

1. We did not really organize ourselves in a way, where there were roles. We all just shared our ideas about what we thought would work best.

2. Collaboration to me, looks like people co-operating to accomplish something all together. Collaboration, sounds like people expressing their ideas, but also listening to others.

3. We originally tried sticking with one plan, but it ended up not working out, so we made some alterations along the way.

4. I learned that I was able to get my ideas across, while also respecting and considering
others ideas.

5. Something I could work on during the next challenge activity, is managing my time a little bit better, but working faster and more efficiently.

1) I don't think we were organize, we just discuss how to build it. I think it would be better if we had roles. We sorta had roles and and sorta didn't but it was a bunch of mixing around.
2) Collaboration looks like people working together be being cooperative. It sounds like only one person is speaking at a time and people responding to what that person say to show they are listening.
3) We discuss on what shape the base should be. We decided to make a triangle base but we mess up on the amount of tape we should use.
4) I learn that communication is important. In our group, we sorta just went with whatever is going on. Then we just wing it at the end.
5) It would be communication because we didn't communicate that much in the group and it led to us winging it in the end.

1. First at all, we think about the shape which can make the spaghetti more tight. Then we measure the length of the tape to manager our use. After all of these, we start to build our structure.
2. In my opinion, collaboration looks more like a team work, between people to make the job better, and it's the relationship between people during the work.
3.

It was a good decision since we would've been fighting the entire time.
2. Collaboration should sound like people discussing and giving constructive criticism, not people trying to yell over each other. Also, we aren't hogging all the noodles and tape.
3. My partner and I had a rough idea in our heads so we communicated and put our ideas together.
4. Sometimes you can't work well with everyone and splitting up is a better decision than arguing.
5. Working with others with different ideas and communicating our opinions better.

We ended up not having enough time to build our structure.
2. Collaboration requires equal effort from each person in the group. Teamwork is built off of communication and organization, and in order to get the job done, you have to work together.
3. Planning would definitely have helped because while we were able to figure out an idea for the base of our structure, we didn't know how to build it.
4.I think I could have communicated better with my partners so that all of us would have worked together, instead of some of us just watching.
5.I could work on communicating with everyone in the group and getting everyone more involved so that we could get the job done quicker and as a team.

How did your team organize itself to accomplish the task? Where there roles - did this help with the process? If not, would roles have helped?
We used basic background knowledge to achieve the task of creating a structure which is sturdy, and can withstand the weight of the object (a marshmallow). This was beneficial to the construction of the building as it provided a guideline and plan to successfully build the tower.

What does collaboration look like and sound like?
Collaboration is when multiple individuals with many talents and (occasionally) differences synthesize to create a strong idea. Through observations and conversations, we can observe that though there are many differences, the individuals can collaborate through their talents and knowledge, and can communicate through conversations and actions to enhance the idea/project.

How did planning help with the process?
Planning is beneficial, as it can lead to a more organized and concise process and final product. Though there may be changes and challenges along the way, members are able to take away the organization and collaboration skills within the task.

If there was no plan, should there have been?
N/A.

What did you learn about your own collaboration skills throughout this activity?
Throughout the activity, I learned that listening to the opinions of fellow members is crucial to the success of the activity, as one member cannot achieve the task by themselves. In the future, I will learn to enhance my collaboration skills through communication and actions with others.

What is something you could work on during the next challenge activity?
I will work on listening and taking others’ opinions into consideration, as they have many unique talents and information that I may not know, and that may be crucial to the development and completion of the activity.

1. We started throwing ideas around to get started. We ended up mixing a couple of our ideas together. I think a little more planning would have been helpful but i’m not sure if organizing roles would have been ideal because it prevents creativity. All of us gave our suggestions, we started building and it just worked because we didn’t really disagree (after we came up with our idea)

2. Supporting each other’s ideas and not just saying “your idea sucks, let’s do mine” but instead saying something like “that idea is pretty cool but i think this would work better if we did this”. Everyone is communicating clearly and effectively.

3. Like I said before, I think a little more planning would have been helpful because not all of us were on board with everything that was happening. We half-winged it. And we could have worked on the design a little more.

4. I realized that it isn’t hard to work with other students. If everyone is communicating properly everything works out in the end. When there’s a lot of diverse ideas it can be harder to come down to just one but it works out eventually.

5. I think we could get started faster because I don’t think we had as much time to build as we would’ve liked.

Perhaps, assigning roles would of made us a bit more efficient.
2.) Collaboration to me is task of working together as a group to achieve a certain task/goal. While compromising with each other at the same time.
3.) The entire group, myself included, spent majority of the time planning the structure. In fact, we wasted most of the time planning and we barely finished the base.
4.) I got to compromise people's ideas in a mature and controlled manner.
5.) I need to improve on efficiency, especially when working in a group because I tend to get distracted easily.

1. My team was organized in a role system wherever help was needed in what we were doing. For example, if someone was trying to tape two pieces of the spaghetti and was struggling, another person who was less occupied would jump in and take on the help for that particular part. This system helped the team communicate and made for some good opportunities within the challenge.
2. Collaboration looks like students engaged and interacting with each other--usually in a positive manner. It sounds like ideas being shared, students agreeing and disagreeing over ideas in a healthy way, and constructive feedback being given to one another.
3. Planning what was to happen in our team helped greatly towards our final product. When we first decided that we would use a triangular base and build off of that to create strong support for the marshmallow on top, we ended up in a relaxed situation, as we knew exactly what we were doing. The planning of the first steps made it easier to grow onto what we had when it came to finishing the challenge.
4. Throughout this challenge, I have learned that I am not a very dominant person who will take charge and make things happen from the get-go. However, I am more of a student who will suggest ideas where they are needed from past experiences and knowledge about the challenge.

1. My group didn't have a good idea at begin of the challenge. And we had some ideas later. And everyone tried thier own idea.
2. Collaboration to me look like do the same work as a team. But I didn't.
3. The plan is useful for the challenge, if we have a nice plan we will do the challeng more efficient than without a plan.
4. Throughout this activity, I found I'm not good at communication.
5. I will try to do more community during next challenge and do the work with my mate more.

1. Roles weren't issued in our team. We started by talking about our ideas on what to build. The design wasn't clear but we somehow got it to work.

2.Collaboration looks like when a group of people work together to complete something. Collaboration should sound somewhat loud due to the communication between group members.

3. There was no plan but I do think a plan would've been useful to help organize the activity and our communication.

4. I learned my collaboration skills aren't the greatest and need a lot of improvement. ^^;

5. During the next challenge activity I think roles would definitely be a plus organization wise.

1. My group wasn't well-organized since we had 2 different ideas of structures. When we finally reached an agreement, we were almost out of time to finish the building.
2. Collaboration to me is to be working together as a team, all contributing to reach one goal, but my group had split into two small groups. There were only two people working at each time, other two were just watching basically.
3. We didn't have a very good plan when there should be one. Since we found out that we didn't have enough time, we just went on building while we had no idea how to stracture it.
4.
