This website allows teachers to find or create their videos and embed comprehension questions throughout the video to ensure student attention and checking mastery of the topic. Teachers are also able to see detailed analytics on how their students are performing based on the comprehension questions, which in turn will allow the teacher to better differentiate future lessons.  This seems best suited for students grades 3-12. It can also be integrated with programs such as Google Classroom, Canvas, Schoology, Moodle, Blackboard, PowerSchool, and Blackbaud.

This website is a tool for teachers to facilitate discussions. Teachers create “grids” where they post topics or questions and students can then post video/voice recorded responses to the teacher and/or other classmates. Teachers can also record their feedback to student responses. There is also an app available for students to create their responses, which is compatible for both iOS and Android. The Flipgrid website says that PreK to PhD learners are currently using the site.

Dictation is a free speech recognition tool that allows anyone to write emails, essays, and documents using voice narration and no typing. For educational purposes, this can be a useful tool for students with reading/writing learning disabilities and/or ELL students to practice their English speaking/pronunciation. 

Dictation is limited to the Google Chrome browser on either Windows PC or MacOS.

This tool can be for students of any age, however, it is best used with students old enough to have their own cell phones to play. This is a game-learning platform available online where teachers can find or create quizzes, surveys, puzzles, and formative assessments for students to play individually/in teams. For the formative assessments, these can be more formal without a timer. It can be used across multiple platforms (Mac, PC, iOS, Android).

In these days of distance learning, teachers can host live kahoot sessions by displaying questions and answers on a shared screen while students answer the questions on their devices.

This formative assessment tool allows teachers and administrators to identify gaps in student learning. When used school-wide, it can be used to check student benchmarks with their mastery of the curriculum. Questions can be teacher-made and/or aligned with standards depending on the curriculum. Teachers can then use the data gathered to make decisions about their instruction. It can even be synced to Google Classroom. It is recommended that you use this with Chrome, however, it should also work with Firefox, Safari, and Edge.

This website is used by secondary and higher education teachers to check student writing for plagiarism. There is also a feedback feature (Feedback Studio) that allows students to get feedback on their writing from first to final drafts. The Feedback Studio has an iOS app available for download. However, Android users must use a Google Chrome browser.

Track CC is a tool that is used for school management, recording such data as attendance, behavior, and grading. Teachers record the data into the app/website and then administrators and parents/guardians can have access to that information. It can also be used to communicate assignment deadlines or events with students and parents/guardians. 

 There are Android, iOS, and macOS apps available, as well as website access.

This free to use web app is for ESL/EFL teachers to check the level of difficulty of text against the Common European Framework. This can then help the teacher to determine if the text is appropriate for the students’ English level and create a potential pre-teaching vocabulary list. Teachers should simply copy and paste their text into the site. Once submitted, the teacher can appropriately analyze the levels of the words used in the text.

This tool is not to be confused with the Text Analyzer app available on the App store or Google Play. Road to Grammar Text Analyzer is only available online.
