The agenda items are the current MoU, the discussions for the following one and the presentation of the project proposals for the tdh & Dachser climate cooperation. During the workshop, we wish to evaluate the status, update and review the partnership with Dachser as a whole. For that reason, we are gathering the impressions and thoughts we have as tdh on the achievements, challenges and lessons learned of the current MoU. At the same time, as we are looking ahead, kindly share with us some thoughts and ideas for the next MoU. Project States - Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Bihar and Delhi in India

Dachser is supporting Youth for Ecological Sustainability (YES) at local (12,000 members), national (20 members) and international level (4 members) for organizing, strengthening and disseminating their ideas and knowledge on:

•Health and nutrition -supporting children and women to get nutritious food

•Education and employment- 93 children getting support for academic education through Remedial Centres, 265 youth trained in computers and speaking English. 77 youth are earning (INR 10-12,000).

•Peace, diversity and gender-based violence - Protecting girls from child marriage (7 girls in 2022) and linking them to welfare schemes and enrolling/re-enrolling girls in schools, 524 girls trained in cutting and tailoring and 67 are earning (INR 3-4,000)

•Climate change and environment protection - Creating awareness, cleaning, reviving and recharging water bodies in villages

Dachser is supporting project in Nepal to ensure quality education and better livelihood options in Gaumul Rural Municipality through:

•Visual teaching and learning aid for 3874 children

•Setup of libraries and laboratories in 11 schools for 1332 children

•14 sports activities for recreation and development for 1662 children

•Capacity building of 120 primary teachers on child friendly teaching methods and child rights

•12 community learning centers for 173 primary level marginalized children to improve academic performance

•120 young farmers trained on organic vegetable farming

•82 trained farmers supported with agriculture inputs to start farming and they earn NPR 5000 to 45000 (approx.. Euro 35 to 320) in a season

Access of Community to Medical Aid

•Health centers at 30 operational areas were monitored to ensure availability of medicines, doctors, regular visit of health workers to the village

•RTPCR testing in the villages gained pace

•19882 eligible population from 400 villages were facilitated to receive covid vaccine

Support for Nutritional Supplements and Hygiene Kits

•471 people affected with COVID, TB, Silicosis were supported with nutritional supplements

•737 families were supported with dry ration, 384 children and youth adolescents with nutrition kits and 320 families with hygiene kits

Support to Children and Adolescents

•1405 children including young adolescents participated in educational and recreational activities

•1405 children and young adolescent in difficult situation were identified and linked to educational and recreational activities.

• Total 25 cases of child labour and 2 child marriage cases were identified and reported in Madhya Pradesh.

Less availability of decent employment opportunities is demotivating youths to join short term vocational training course, rather they are more inclined for higher education

Girls and women are getting skilled but lack of financial sources to open own shops, buying sewing machines, lack of market linkage, lack of linkage with govt. schemes is a challenge

Sensitization of male members of family towards gender equality is lacking to respect the choices of girls and women, when they assert their choices/rights in families many times there is a backlash/families become hostile.

Engaging youth for the entire project duration (5 years) has been difficult due to migration

Youth participation in campaigns and networks at National level needs to be ensured in the core committee

Geography and difficult terrain in Nepal posed some challenges
