Turns out she did! She loves sports, and she played basketball in high school.  During Erin's junior year of high school, her team went to state. She grew up nurturing and caring for animals. She says "doing so really helps her care for others as an adult today." She took all of her college classes at the campus PSEO. Spring of 2008, her second half of junior year, she attended Lake Superior College and her entire senior year she attended  the University of Minnesota Duluth. Erin wanted to work in the medical field because her grandma was a nurse, and  her sister was becoming a nurse. She knew her options for being a nurse were really endless because you can take the career so many directions. In fall of 2009 she decided to attend college of Saint Scholastica in Duluth, MN, for their excellent nursing program. Erin complected the four year program and obtained her Bachelors in Science, Nursing Degree. In school she discovered her love for critical care nursing. Erin graduated with her degree in May of 2013,and was hired directly into the Surgical Intensive Care Unit at Saint Mary's Medical Center in Duluth, MN. Their specialty is open heart surgery (OHS) which is great because OHS patients are Erin's favorite to care for. Erin works as a charge nurse, trains new staff and students, and is also on the Unit Based Practice Committee. Erin is happily married to Pete Laveau.
