Then I tried to challenge myself by using an ebony pencil for the rest of the crossing. It was difficult to keep certain lines light and others dark by taking or putting down pressure, so I went over the darkest area with more lines. Finally, I revised the lightest areas with an eraser which super difficult to erase. At first it was quickly done, but when I finally settled on the shape I pressed harder on my pencil to create definitive lines. I used a plastic/vinyl eraser to clean up the edges and to help with details like the chair legs or head. First I created a grid with very fine lines. Then I drew my peppers and peach which were intially too big. I almost wanted to start over entirely since I was already 10 mins in to our 20 min drawing session. Although when the Prof added more time to the drawing session I was encouraged to erase the previous drawing and continue. (Attempt 2) was after the check-in session where I received helpful feedback on what I had so far. Revisiting lessons about the tools that are used to draw still-life was fun and helped me make my final edits. (Attempt 3) I erased all my shadows and replaced with an outline. Also, looked over my ellipses for my mug and bottle. I tried making my peppers bigger and rounding out my peach as well.
