North Korea

In 1950 the US put a full embargo on North Korea. The Embargo ended in 2006 and reinstated in 2017. They made this embargo to stop the development of Nuclear bombs in North Korea. Economic conditions have worsened in North Korea, many people cannot get food.

Reason-When Russia illegally annexed Crimea and started interfering in Eastern Ukraine, the West responded with economic sanctions. In July 2014, sanctions were enacted in a coordinated manner by the European Union, the United States, Canada, and other Allies and partners.

Effect-Russia’s ban on Western food imports had a compounding effect on this challenging picture, as it led to higher food prices and hence to further inflation. This was in addition to the effect of the fall in the value of the Rouble, which had already raised the price of imported goods and services in Roubles. Also caused economic damage to the EU economy, with total losses estimated at €100 billion (as of 2015).

Year-In august of 2011 Syria was placed into an embargo by the US

Reason- Due to the violence in Syria and the ignorance of the president and abuse since the president was committing violence against the civilians. The civilians of Syria began a protest when the US government came in and decided to try and help by putting an embargo/sanction on Syria to try and stop the abuse and violence on civilians of Syria.
