Stage 4 cancer is very unlikely to cure, this is because it means that more tumors have been made (secondary cancers) and spread to other organs. Well it’s not likely to be cured in the long term, treatments can help control the tumors and/ or shrink them. By doing this it may reduces the amount of symptoms (could help if they’re in pain) and extend the patients life.

The two types of tumors are benign and malignant. Benign tumors aren't cancerous because they don't spread to other areas of the body. The likelihood of getting rid of a benign tumor/s is very good, but they can be dangerous if they press on vital structures (e.g. Nerves). Malignant tumors are cancerous. This is because they spread to other parts of the body and can create more of themselves. (Read the 5 stages to know more on malignant tumors)
