After school (2:05) walk to Fountain Valley Library. Shifts start at 3:00 pm and end at 5:00 pm. Repeat twice a week!

Why did I do it?

Volunteering has always been something I hoped to do in the near future. Not only would it help me gain credits for college but also to help out the community which is what majority of students overlook. I believe volunteering just to volunteer and help out my community is just as important as volunteering to get the credits. Volunteering at the FV library was not my first thought when it came to volunteering. I first wanted to help at a shelter but it was just one of the obstacles I had to face. I had to realize that some places wouldn't allow me to volunteer either because of time or because of my age. That is why I had to learn to be flexible and find other ways to help out. In the end I believe volunteering at the FV Library was a great choice because of how close it is to my house and how simple the task is without being a liability to the organization. Not only did I learn how to shelve books in alphabetical order, but I learned that not everything will go my way and I learned how to be flexible and appreciative with what I do have.
