It is obviously a simulator but what it is presented is very clear and real. Every team has to draw up plans and this means organisation , problem solving,  cooperation and ...teamwork . In my own opinion this should be the overall keyword : Teamwork. To gain points, to pass , you really have to and cannot study by your own. You have to compare and share your ideas with your team mates!  
The simulator helps you to face a big reality that is often misunderstood or not well known.  Even with a computer, we become little traders and we learn to organise a management plan. It can be seen also as a first approach to a real work and why not, it could be your real future!
