Nurul Amirah binti Jaafar
A174862
9 August 2022

The objectives of my project have been fulfilled successfully.

It's a satisfaction when I am able to point out the relevant parenting method in my daily life by observing parent-child interaction outside. My most favourite place to observe and being analytical is in a restaurant. I've came across parents who spent time with their children by enjoying simple maths quizzes while waiting for food. This is a good method in building competencies. Another platform to apply my knowledge is on Instagram. There are a lot of reels that parents share regarding their children. I can relate to their method or even learn from them. I also enjoy sharing what I've learned through my social medias.

It is really challenging to educate parents on the efficient parenting method. It is true that there is no right or wrong technique in parenting. However, some methods which have been a cultural belief among our society — such as spanking the child — do more harm than benefits as parallel to well-studied research.

This project is more to self-educate. Even though I am not a parent, I think this project works well as I am able justify the parent's technique on the child whether it is something impressive or something that needs to be changed.

This project can be improved by engaging with more children and parents, perhaps with the collaboration with child development centre in HUKM. Therefore, I will be able to implement the techniques upon them and exchange ideas between parents. Nevertheless, I think the main target in behaviour-changing technique is the parent instead of the child.

Pua Qian En

A174632

14.8.22

The final product of the project was successfully completed, which I had successfully completed on my web page, which is about the basic information of a clinic (Link : https://qe0900.github.io/coursera-test/My%20web%20site.html ). Next, other objectives were also fulfilled, in which I had learned the basic coding languages and their functions in the web page coding process.

The part of the project which I enjoy the most was creating my web page by myself. During the creating process, I can design it myself, and can put anything related inside all by my own creativity, and thus by the time the project is completed, I was very satisfied about it. Maybe it is not perfect enough, it is the first ever web page developing project which I had done.

The part which I found the most challenging was the beginning of the studying process. As I mentioned in previous weeks, learning some whole new coding languages wasn't easy. This needed patience and determination throughout the process. I had to learn from scratch about the anatomy, the arrangements and the functions of the coding languages, which was very challenging to me.

Again, I think that the part of the project that really worked well was the web page development part. After the completion of the clinic web page development, I was satisfied with this fully functioning web page coded by myself. Although that clinic wasn't real in real life (It is just a fake web page), it really works and functions well to guide the web page visitor to find the information they wanted. I am glad that I worked well in coding this webpage successfully.

I think some improvements can be done in the project. Firstly, I should do more practice after the learning process, which can help me to remember and understand more of what I have learned. Next, I should always be more proactive throughout the learning process. At some points during the learning process, I was passive and just learned what was given to me. However, I should seek more information through the Internet or the recommended books. Besides, I had very little interactions with the July batch learner of this Coursera course. In fact, I should interact more with them, in order to improve my project as well as gaining some constructive advice from them.

Muhammad Hafizuddin Ariff bin Hanipah
A173796
14 August 2022

Objectives were fully fulfilled as I got to familiarise myself with the key ideas of precalculus. I also got to fully understand the preliminary methodology of tangents and limits as well as the definition of derivative. Lastly, I got to practise and apply methods of different calculus with applications and integral calculus.

The most enjoyment I got is when I attempted the exercises given and answered the final assessment. It showed that I fully understand what have been taught. It also felt rewarding. By completing this course, I got to fully understand that it may not be obvious, but we actually use calculus quite often in our daily lives.

The part that I found hardest is when I actually forgot to bring scientific calculator home from college so for the first few days, I had to use a simple calculator. This is hard because I had to calculate all the x-intercept, turning points and etc. by using a pen and a paper. Other than that, the last 2 weeks were the hardest part of the course because it was all new and I never learned it before.

What has really worked is that I finally understands the concept and the application of calculus. Various fields such as engineering, medicine, biological research, economics, architecture, space science, electronics, statistics and pharmacology all benefit from calculus. For example, epidemiologists who conduct research on infectious diseases use calculus to discover the spread rate and the area where an infection will likely occur. This can help in preventing an outbreak from happening.

What can be improved is that firstly I must be fully prepared before running the course and it can help me utilize the time given. I should also read and study more so that I can answer easily any calculus questions given to me. I should also seek help from my coursemate through Coursera as they can help if I get stuck on question I don't know how to answer.

HUSNA BINTI HASRI
A171602
15th AUGUST 2022

----------

EDIT 18/8 : Earlier today, New Straits Times published the article I sent them! Here is the link to the article: https://www.nst.com.my/opinion/letters/2022/08/823234/effective-communication-skills-boon-doctors

----------

By the end of my EP, I have fulfilled all of the objectives of my project. My understanding towards journalism has vastly improved, I was able to learn the proper techniques used in journalism and I was able to report news professionally.

What I liked most about the project is learning all about journalism especially tidbits such as getting to know the notable figures in journalism, famous works and journalist organizations. Every day I am in this course, I learned something new and unexpected. It made me feel like I am actually majoring in journalism and about to be a future journalist! Although I am not, I would not mind writing articles as a hobby on my own blog or freelancing in my spare time.

The most challenging part of the project is without a doubt, making the article itself. Since I am a beginner, I chose to write a "letter to editor", a type of guest column. It is not easier to write than a typical news article but it is easier to publish for a newbie without any prior experience. Making the article was harder than I thought. I aimed to complete the article by Sunday but it was completed on Monday instead. It was okay since I planned to submit the article on Monday anyway but it goes to show that writing an article takes time, patience and lots and lots of practice!

What worked really well is changing my article type from a typical local report to a column. My original plan was to write as much news article as I can about my hometown within a week, without publishing it anywhere, as proof of my understanding of the course. I recently changed the type of article according to my assessor's recommendation and it worked just as well. In fact, its even better since I felt like I pushed my limits and really putting myself further out of my comfort zone. On top of needing to send the article to a publisher, making the article about EP really adds to the challenge. I felt satisfaction in completing my project, more than if I never changed my output in the first place.

What I think could be improved might be the journalism course that I choose. Not because it is bad, but because it is very time consuming and quite difficult to be finished in three weeks (the last week is used to make and submit an article). Since its online with a flexible due date, I thought the estimation of 6 months written in the website can be easily shorten to 3 weeks. It was doable - although I was late a few times - and now it remains one of the most intense 4 weeks of my life.

Shameena Gill

A178344

17/08/22

By the end of the elective posting, my objectives have been successfully fulfilled. Although my understanding still remains very surface level, I have managed to learn a fair bit about the workings of machine learning and the ethics behind them.

I really enjoyed learning something new. Although I felt out of depth, the challenge of learning how to create a simple machine learning algorithm excited me. I would not ever pursue this as a side career but nevertheless, I am happy that I now am a slightly more knowledgeable person about this particular topic than I was before the elective posting.

The most challenging part of the project was undoubtedly the creation of a working machine learning algorithm. I used a dataset obtained online about the demographics of people diagnosed with heart disease. The purpose of the algorithm was to create a working code that could predict if each person was at risk of developing heart disease as accurately as possible. Occasionally I hit quite a few roadblocks especially at the beginning when I didn’t have any idea how to start. However, with the help of YouTube and other free resources, I managed to find my footing and make progress. On the other hand, the part that worked the most was the teaching structure of the course which was very well suited for beginners as the educators used very simple terminology and made sure that the listener didn’t feel overwhelmed or confused.

I think managing my expectations is one aspect that could be improved. On top of learning a subject matter that was entirely new to me, I thought I could fit a 7 week programme in just 3 weeks. I managed to get it done but it was very stressful.

Al Hassan Bin Sajahan
A173593
20/8/2022

By the end of this course, my objectives have been fulfilled. But, I realised, as it stated, this course is for beginners which means there are many other things for me to be explored so, that I can understand in-depth how to plating very specific meals for people underlying with non-communicable diseases.

Throughout, the course I enjoyed pretty much everything because they were the things we need to know and I find it very useful to communicate with my customers when I was working in a pharmacy. Even, sometimes I felt very happy to share with them because I've corrected their misunderstandings. Thus, one of the facts many people including myself before misunderstood is how to interpret the nutritional information about a product. Thus, I enjoyed this particular subtopic very much.

The most challenging part for me was to find some of the ingredients (Week 5 Course: later ill share the photos in my video) such as asparagus which is normally hard to find in a local supermarket thus, I went to Jaya Grocer for it.

The thing that worked out as I mentioned above is correcting my misunderstandings on how to interpret the nutritional information of a product. Besides that, I used to think protein is the utmost priority for diet food but now I've learnt in food moderation vegetables and water are the ones.

What can be improved? Without a doubt, I should think before the leaps. After all, my first week of the course was hectic because I chose a cryptocurrency course which is for expert-level students. I realised that when I asked to do an assessment that require sofwaring a new crypto coin. However, I was relieved because the faculty agreed for me to change the course and I was grateful because it is something we all need to know.

However, since this course is from the states there’re slight difference in our food intakes.

I’ve enjoyed and find this elective posting interesting which make me more resourceful. I like how this course taught me how to prepare my meals and make them looks more attractive and healthy at the same time. It’s certainly an eye-opener about some facts like arrangement of items in the mall and also packaging such as “natural” or organic when it contains preservatives.

What I found it hard about this project is to practise eating healthy daily on which I’ve cheat day some days to make life more colourful and vibrant

What has worked for me is that I do put some effort in preparing meals with my niece which makes her keen of eating what she bakes.

I think this project can be improved by having a variety of ways to prepare food and also the types of food involves Asian , Middle East or many more cuisines.

Alia Maisara Adenan
A176990

My objectives of joining a course catering to a new field of current in-demand careers are completed. By joining this Foundation course, I am eligible to join the subsequent projects that can be done any time until I obtain my very own validated certificate from Google.

As this is the early stage of the UX design field, the entire foundational course has been thoroughly adequate for beginners like me to understand UX design and its concepts.

This course is concluded with a study on research in design. Research for the purpose of understanding user behaviours, needs and motivations is integrated into the product development life cycle that can be divided into three: foundational, design and post launch research. Despite research providing actual facts and numbers rather than assumptions on our users, designers are still prone to creating biases. Identifying biases and learning the proper methods to avoid bias have been difficult for me when answering the weekly assignment.

UX design course has been satisfyingly good especially when every step that you do to solve a problem is rooted with the idea of users always comes first. UX design requires a lot of engagement and communication to aid in producing a successful product fitting every users’ needs.

I would love to participate in a UX design project at an entry-level and thankfully with the remaining courses offered by Google that I am eligible to join since I have completed the main foundation course, I can participate in two projects related to UX design and research.

It feels so rewarding when they come to me and praise the food that I have made for them. Other than that, I also happy when I got tipped for the delivery I have made.

The most challenging part about this project is to keep up with the standard and recipe of Su Tom Yam restaurant in the making of the dishes. There are countless of bread and eggs need to be rejected as it not up to the standard. For the delivery part, there is one time where I was lost and took a very long time to deliver the food as there are miscommunication between us.

Overall, everything worked well throughout the project. The key factor for it is to have a very good communication skills. With a good communication skills, I can handle my tasks and customer very well. I also think that my application to change from Bread Station to delivery service was a good call.

What I think can be improved for this project is to choose a workplace that near to my house.
