He stole a bible and tries to get to his friend who was English teacher before. On the way to him inside to subway he remembers his childhood memory when he was on the beach his cousin dared him " Fill this sieve with a sand and you'll get a dime!" (p 78) It was impossible to do, but he tried as hard as he could. In the subway he knew he had to give the Bible to his captain because he knows he stole one book. In his hand might be the last bible in the world that haven't destroyed. Montag tried to read the lines and memories as much as he can , he was saying the lines again and again to much the words stuck in his head, but he was distracted by dental commercial "Denham's Dentifrice" (p.78) and could not memorize anything. He comes to Faber to beg for help, Faber was happy to see the last copy of bible in Montags hand . Together they create a plan to take the firemen down by hiding books in their houses and firemen wouldn't have any other choices but to burn their own houses and people would go back to reading books. Then Montag goes back to firehouse and gives the Bible to his captain Beatty. They get call from someone and sat on the firetruck to go to someones house and burn books but when Montag goes out from the truck he sees his own house in front of him.
