Book cover features both main characters, Bingo and J'miah. Since the two main characters were raccoons it got me wondering about the average life span of a raccoon. The answer, only 2-3 years in the wild, however, raccoons in captivity can live up to 20 years. That's a big difference!

In this story, the two pigs, Buzzie and Clydine, decided they wanted to eat sugar cane and trampled through the whole swamp to find it. This made me thing, do pigs actually eat sugar cane? The answer is yes, they do! In fact a steady diet of sugar cane can actually increase the weight of the pigs, which make them more marketable if they are being raised to be sold.
