I started working as an IT teacher in 2003 in Nicosia. Moved to Lefkara, Larnaka for 5 years where I taught children aged 12-17 and then back to Nicosia teaching upper secondary children mostly programming and databases for 3 years. The next 3 years I moved to the Ministry to try something new as a member of the Web Services department. I am now back at Archbishop Makarios III Lyceum in Dasoupolis Nicosia to do what I love, teach!!! My current lab. Each student with their own desktop computer to work with. Hopefully this MOOC experience will help me to enrich and improve my teaching and the ICT

Hello everyone. I am an ICT teacher in a secondary school in Cyprus. Among other duties I am responsible for the school website and network. Our school building is new so the network infrastructure is really good. This really helps maintaining the school network although there are a few problems. We have 200 computers, 50 printers and many other devices consisting of our network. I hope through the course I will be able to share my knowledge and at the same time gain some valuable information about optimizing our school network. Our school website

As previously mentioned our school has a setup that is more or less similar to the one described above. We have a main server room and other small switch rooms with patch panels to accommodate the school network. All points are connected through fiber wiring. Our internet is filtered centrally by the Ministry and is sufficient for any activity in the school. We are in the process of installing wireless internet for everyone in this coming year.
