A strange window on the screen.

It all started when I was fifteen years old. I was in an English class writing a text on a tool called pladet when a strange and unknown window on the screen.
Thereafter the computer turned off and I asked my teacher if I could change the computer because that computer wasn't fuctioning.
A week later I used the same computer and it happened again. The strange window was black with green text in binary code. I translated this text and there were some information about Portugal.
My friend and I were amazed with the window because it was written that some cars water fuelled were coming from England. As written in the text, a group of Portuguese students were arriving to Mars University of Physics.
Mars University of Physics was adapted to Mars temperatures and atmosphere.
If that was true my friend and I were the lucky people who had the opportunity to know the future of science, education, space exploration and car industry.

Cyber friendship and traditional friendships

Cyber friendship consists in meeting new friends on the internet or on social media, whereas traditional friendship implies to meet face to face a new person.

Cyber friendship is more easy to do, because we don’t need to have a face to face contact , and we don’t need to leave our homes. Although, there are a lot of risks in it because we are talking with a person that we don’t know, and that person maybe doesn´t have good intentions.

Traditional friendship is more safe because we can meet a person for ourselves and if we don’t like that person we can go away. Over time we realize whether we like it or not, but sometimes people that we really like can disappoint us, and we feel sad because we have memories with that friend, whereas cyber friendship we don’t meet with that person that we call our friend and if we get angry with each other , we just stop chatting or texting and we will be ok , because we don’t have memories of things that we did together.

We think that traditional friendship is better because at least we will have good memories of moments that we had with our friends, even if we don’t get along already.

Work done by: Miguel Sobral nº 20, 10ºB

                            Pedro Costa nº 21,10º B

Mariana Falcão e Raul Palma - Topic 1 Nowadays there are more and more people having cyber friends instead of traditional friends. It depends on what values you like to keep. Do you have a cyber friend? Or do you rather traditional friendships? On one hand, we can think of cyber friendship as a practical option for those who don’t have much free time to go out and meet friends – sometimes is just easier to switch on the computer or mobile phone and chat with people. It also allows making friends more easily because there’s no visual contact, so people don’t get judged by their appearance. On the other hand, not having information about the people we are talking to may be very dangerous, because what they tell us cannot be the truth, but only a way that can lead to kidnapping or abuse. In traditional friendships this kind of troubles don’t usually happen because once you meet someone part of you can tell if you can trust that person or not. In my opinion having real friends like the old fashion way is much better, because those are the ones that have a shoulder ready for you when you are down, and not a screen that can be suddenly offline.

The world has changed a lot in 34 years. It’s a completely different place and travelling on time made me realize that.

Since always I thought the world would evolve but I never thought it would evolve this much. Even education evolved. I went to a few classes and I felt like the technology used in it made the classes much more fun and interesting. I had the chance to learn how the space and our planet changed in the Biology class.

In that class I also learnt the scientist discovered a new planet with life. Thought that information now I know how the technology also evolved. Thanks to that advance in technology we can travel really fast in space which allowed me to travel to the Curiosity planet.

I end up reading a magazine to know what else I could explore. Unfortunately a read a new about how people are suffering from health problems. Their dependency of drugs was so big that the humans are dying.

How could they do this to themselves? I was so mad that the human being was that dumb. I went back immediately to the world I used to know. And I was happy about it.

                   We saw the future

Yesterday we had the unique opportunity of travelling into the future. This opportunity was given to us by Abstergo on a million dollar project so we took the opportunity. What we saw wasn t what we initially thought.

When we arrived at the future the first thing we wanted to do was to watch a 8D movie which was more realistic than real life. Soon we realized there were no cinemas in the future. So we went to a “library” to figure out what had happened in the last years. When we got into the library we realized there were no more books, only these new holograms. We discovered what was going on with cinemas and other important things such as the human race and our scientific progress but we only found out boring things like a world war that had happened in 2034 and that the human race had colonized our solar system. The average human had longer life expectancy thanks to great progress in medicine. The educations was also gone thanks to pills that increased IQ.

We really learned a lot about our future as humans considering we only wanted to watch some 8D movies
