• Reflective writing time: put on soothing music, provide prompts, allow students 3-5 minutes for reflective writing. 
• Chit Chat Break: build in opportunities to talk during the school day. If students are getting restless allow them 3-5 minutes to talk before refocusing them back to the lesson. 
• Goal Setting: allow for goal setting as part of classroom activities.
  • Visible Learning by John Hattie: Biggest impact on student learning is GOAL SETTING
