I believe that RPM can be an effective option for many patients who wish to participate in such programs. As healthcare systems search for ways to increase the quality of patient care provided while also controlling healthcare costs, RPM provides a promising option for positive movement on these indicators. RPM can increase access to care for many vulnerable patients. However, as this is a relatively new and evolving healthcare innovation, additional studies are needed to evaluate best clinical practice, financial costs and barriers, and possible contraindications to RPM.
