Malka excelled in mathematics and languages. She was deported to Auschwitz in September 1942. She spent two years there, where she worked as an interpreter. She always strived to help other inmates. She snuck photographs from inmates families to them. She was highly trusted amongst everybody. Edward Edek had planned on escaping, where Malka also wanted to escape so she could expose everything going on in Auschwitz. They went forward with their plan, and escaped. Soon after Edek was found trying to buy some bread with gold he stole from camp, and escorted back. Malka then turned herself in because they had promised to always be together.
