To understand the war you would have to examine Sudan's history and factors that contributed to it. Sudan is a country located in northeastern Africa, it gained its independence from British and Egyptian colonial rule on January 1, 1956. The country is ethnically and religiously diverse with many different people there, with Arab Muslims populating the majority and numerous indigenous African ethnic groups practicing Christianity and traditional religions. (Newton, 2019). The roots of the war can be traced back to the colonial period when Sudan's north and south were separate. The North with its Arab-Muslim majority, received much better treatment from the British in terms of resources and development. While the South, which was predominantly African and non-muslim, was neglected and belittled. The divide between the North and South deepened after independence, as political power was taken into the hands of the Northern elites. In 1955, before Sudan gained independence the first Sudanese civil war broke out between the northern-dominated government and southern rebels. This war lasted until 1972 and resulted in the signing of the Addis Ababa Agreement, which granted autonomy to the southern region of Sudan. (Noel, 2016)

The assistance included food, medical supplies, shelter, and other essential needs. In 2011, Sudan experienced another significant event when South Sudan gained independence after a separate civil war. The U.S. played a role in facilitating negotiations between Sudan and South Sudan, particularly regarding issues like oil sharing and border disputes. (Governments, 2022)

Such as the Humanitarian Crisis. The conflict in Sudan, especially in Darfur, has resulted in a severe humanitarian crisis. It led to widespread displacement, with millions of people being forced to flee their homes and seek refuge in other countries. The war has resulted in significant loss of life, with estimates of hundreds of thousands of people killed. (Yayboke, 2018). There were also Ethnic and Regional dynamics. The conflict in Sudan had been characterized by ethnic and regional tensions. The fighting in Darfur, in particular, has been marked by fighting between Arab militias, such as the Janjaweed, and non-Arab ethnic groups. (Ray, 2023). Overall the Sudanese war, particularly the conflict in Darfur, had a big impact on the people in that region.
