         <description><![CDATA[<div>1) Economic desperation<br>- crazy high levels of inflation, poverty, hunger, German people suffering<br>- 1929 Wall street Crash . made people desperate<br>- When Hitler came and claimed he could solve it, people were so desperate they listened<br><strong>This is where Nazi votes increase after 1929 - government had survived up until 1929 wall street crash - made people desperate - comes back to looking for someone to blame</strong></div>]]></description>

         <title>Consequence #1 - Establishment of Dictatorship (happened within a year)</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>- Enabling act of 1933 - restricted stuff, claimed to be the 'Law to remedy the distress of people and the reich'<br>- affected people because it began the first steps of his nationalist socialist revolution<br>- took emergency powers: freedom of the press / freedom of speed etc<br>- There was no legal was to replace him to by being chancellor he could easily establish dictatorship<br>- opponents were divided, demoralised and weekends even using violence by the SA (who murder an estimated 500 people opposing his party) - by the end of 1933 over 100, 000 potential opponents were arrested.&nbsp;<br>- He made sure the government had control of all aspects of society<br>- Hitler developed against actions e.g hitler youth,&nbsp;<br>- Changed school curriculum to teach anti semitism (sole purpose was to ensure nazi loyalty in children and made sure the next generation was the ideal german child.</div>]]></description>

         <title>Cause #2 - Loss of WWI</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>- Germany was already weak after the war, and the treaty made the government seem weak as it was unrealistic/unachievable...<br>Hitler by contrast was strong and confident, which is what Germans wanted.<br>- Overall Weimar Regime seemed weak and ineffective, blamed for loss of war, and blamed for the effects the treaty brought to Germany.<br>- Made people be more supportive of any leader that could be strong and regain Germany's prior power and strength<br>- Made worse by economic conditions, unrealistic expectations of Treaty basically condemned the Government and made people want this new strong leader/government.</div>]]></description>

         <title>Cause #3 History of Anti Semitism (Jewish conspiracy)</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>- Long history of Anti semitism in Germany, dating real far back<br>- This casual hatred of Jews is something German were raised upon<br>- Hitler used this long history and constantly used the term 'Jewish Conspiracy' which allowed an already hated group of people to be blamed for the loss of WW1<br>- People in their desperate state looking for someone to blame , hitler was able to use this and play on emotions of Germany people --&gt; he offered someone to blame and was able to gain support on this basis.<br><br><strong>Because of cause #1 and #2, people were in a position where Hitler could play on this anti-semitism. People were looking for someone to blame - got votes as hitler used a group of people germans already hated.<br></strong><br></div>]]></description>

         <title>Consequence #2 - Impact on German people (positive)</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>- Hope (they did have this in decades)<br>- youth tended to support because it was exciting and purposeful, they were taught it at school etc (page 29)<br>- Women: probably already oppressed hitler made their job seem purposeful and amazing, romanticised that their job was to serve men, women would have felt loved and important<br>- Economy : created new jobs, tried to stimulate consumer demean, tax concessions and spread grants stimulated demand, boosted confidence - however on the flip side, some groups couldn't apply for economic recover, e.g. agriculture workers , took young men off employment register and people from 18-25 had to join the military for two years&nbsp;<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>- mentally ill were thought as 'burdens to the community' come of his first laws allowed the sterilisation of the hereditary ill so they don't pass it on - 350,000 people sterilised<br>- special uni created to kill disabled children<br>- homosexuals : their behaviour was deeply offended Nazi's - about 10,000-15,000 homosexuals arrested and sent to camps - forced to wear pink triangles - some were experimented on to cure unnatural feelings , lesbians were not seen as a threat to the nation.<br>- Gypsies: as a small group of about 30,000 in germany gypsies were not a major threat provided they did not contaminate the German blood pool - However in 1939 they were sen to camps after decree for 'the struggle against the gypsie plague'&nbsp;- 20,000 gypsies in Auschwitz were based - overall bout half a million gypsies were killed across Europe. </div>]]></description>
