But when the pressure is removed it allows the reaction to start and the CO2 to escape making the drink fizz and slowly lose fizz over time.</p><p><br/></p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>When a cake comes out of the oven they are taller and fluffer than when you put them in.  That happens because of baking powder which is a leavening agent. Baking powder is a mixture of carbonate, starch and a weak acid. The starch dissolves when the baking powder is mixed with water. The carbonate and the acid reacted, producing bubbles of carbon dioxide gas. The carbon dioxide bubbles get trapped in the batter as you mix it. when the batter heats up in the oven absorbs in the oven the bubbles of carbon dioxide heat up and expand and push the batter up and out causing your cake to be tall and fluffy. The reaction is <strong>2 NaHCO 3 ( s ) → Na 2 CO 3 ( s ) + H 2 O ( g ) + CO 2 ( g )</strong> <strong>decomposition reaction</strong>.</p>]]></description>
