Can you find a way to modify the pine cone such that it can be classified as 'hand made'?
3. Instead of cardboard, maybe use a waterproof, stiffer material. Plastic card for instance.
4. Is this tool hand made? Can it be a bendable material so that it wraps around the curved surface of the cup?
5. The tile sample may not give an accurate impression of how the pattern will look on the cup. You placed impressions on 4 corners of the tile. That may look nice by itself but picture how the pattern will look when placed continuously on a curved cup surface.
3. You could have patterns of greater complexity in this example. Instead of wooden board, acrylic sheets can be used for visibility.
4. Tool is not hand made.

Adeline:
Guys overall its the same issue, alot of you didnt make the tool but rather found the tool. Its ok to use something you have found - but u need to creatively edit it.

Also some of you decided hands were tools , and you hand created the patterns, which is also no go zone.

Do work on your feedback and we both hope to see some good improvement by next week. You should also try your tools on a curved clay surface to see if it can happen before class next Wed,

Lionel:
Materials used on your tools should be considered. You're working with wet, smudgy clay so cardboard may not be the best solution. Metal, plastic sheets are preferable.

Patterns formed on a square tile may not translate well onto a curved cup surface. This is especially so when your imprints are big and exceed the dimensions of your tile. You might not be able to predict how your pattern will look in the end.

Some clay tiles might be too dry, which results in an unsatisfactory texture when you're testing your tools.

A lot of ideas we see here are derivative and look really similar to each other. We hope to have you put in the extra effort and set yourself and your work from the rest. Make yourself memorable and impressive.

Also this is to ensure you don't puncture your own cup.
5. Indeed, rake can be refined. Placement of teeth on rake can vary too to give different impressions of rhythm.
6.
