i definitely think of the song differently now that i’ve read the lyrics. the meaning of the song can be confusing due to the fact that it can pass as a patriotic song, so at first u can misunderstand it with pride and happiness. if u listen and see closely though, u can notice that he’s talking about a personal experience and the difficult social environment of them days. now that i understand i feel more empathetic and i can understand in a deeper way the background and the suffering dynamics that he lived.

At first the song gave me an incredible energy without thinking about the lyrics, it was just nice to listen. But then when I understood the meaning above the words my feelings changes and moreover after that I felt more conscious about the suffering of the soldiers.

The song is a little bit tricky because firstly you listen and you think about it in the patriotic way, then you see the truth behind the words and its very important to share the reality trough any way it is possible and the song in this case was perfect

Now the song is different for me. Before I understood only "born in the U.S.A" now I know that the song is around Vietnam. I know that B.S. speaks to the herd's people. The music is important for to change.

When I first listened to the song I thought that it was about an energetic yet patriotic meaning. In the end, yes it was patriotic, but not the type that encourage the people to go to war and die for their country, but it's more the type of song that it's made to open your eyes about the poor condition of the soldiers and the life they left at home.

Thanks to the part where the author writes about the girlfriend his "brother" left at home, it shows perfectly the various possibilities that the two could have had, but were destroyed by the path of violence that wars brings alongside.

Before listen this song i think that born in the USA represent american'pride and invite a people to go in united states.

After listed this song i intended that "Born in the USA"is against the war, and prov that many soldiers how after were in the war have a problems to reintegration in the society.

Thank this song i learn an new original manner to disapprove the war.

Before reading the lyrics i thought that this song was a patriotic anthem.

Then i realized that the author wanted to tell us about a Vietnam war veteran who returns home to get back his work but it is impossible for him. It is a critique of the american government and society for their neglectful treatment of veterans and the working class.

I knew the topic in general but not the boy's story specifically. It is now clear to me that the song is about the effects of the Vietnam War on Americans, although it is often interpreted as a patriotic theme, thus misunderstanding the meaning.
