To pin a document you go to backstage view, and click open. Hold the mouse over the document you want to pin, and a pushpin icon will show up next to the document, to pin it, click it.

To convert a file, open backstage view, click the convert command under the Info tab. When the dialogue box appears, click "ok" and the file will be converted to the newest file type.

To access key tips press the ALT key and the KeyTip feature will show up over the ribbon. Then just press the letter of the command you want to use.

If you want to show or hide Screen Tips click the file tab, click options, then general, and under user interface options, click the option you would like: show feature descriptions in ScreenTips, Don't show feature descriptions in ScreenTips, or Don't show ScreenTips.

To recover or open an existing file open word, go to backstage view and click the open tab, click browse computer and locate where the file was last saved, select it then click open.

Once your file is complete, click file to access backstage view and choose the export command, choose change file type and select what type then click the save as button.
