Juana is more of a round character over time she starts to change drastically. before leaving her kids in Mexico Juana was very caring and loving to her children Reyna, Mago, and Carlos felt very attached to their mother. But when she left for the U.S and came back to her kids she was no longer the same person. Reyna said that her mother came back completely different she was distant and cold.

Juana is the Antagonist of the story she leaves her kids to earn more money with her husband promising to return after a year. She gets cheated on and returns to her children as a completely different person. She has hate in her heart and her children feel it by the way she treats them she is no longer the person she was before she left.
