The analogy in paragraph three help the reader understand the condition of poor people traveling and how it helps the author's tone that poor people weren't treated equally because the condition of the ships was that it was crowding and didn't had any sanitation. In the text it states "The poor people were herded in the hold f the ship like a flock of sheep, with no sanitation." The poor people didn't get any sanitation so that they can wash their hands and if one get sick it could spread because the ship is crowding with people. It proves that they didn't care about the poor people because they had to go through those conditions. In the text it states "But for working-class passengers, the conditions on a crowded ship were unthinkable." This proves that the poor people didn't get what they deserve and rich people got more than what they deserved. This is how the reader understand what the analogy of paragraph three and how ti support the author's tone.

The analogy in paragraph three helps the reader understand the conditions people traveled in because it gives the reader a understanding on how harsh and bad the conditions where on the boat where. In paragraph three the captain states "The poor people were herded in the hold of the ship like a flock of sheep, with no sanitation's." This explains that the people on the ship where crowed into each other in the bottom of the ship. In the text it states " The passengers where were allowed on deck in small groups, but only when the weather was fair. Otherwise, they spent much of their voyage penned in the utter darkness of the hold." This explains that they were allowed on the deck in small groups but the weather had to be nice or they sat in the hold for most of their trips. This is how paragraph three helps identify the analogy.

The analogy in paragraph 3 is"The poor people was herded in the hold of the ship like a flock of sheep, with no sanitation". The analogy helps the reader visualize that the conditions are not sanitary also because it was very crowded people aren't comfortable and the people has a lack of hygiene and food, which shows how their conditions are extreme. In the text it states that" Herded in the hold of the ship like a flock of sheep." This shows how poor people are crowded in the ship and the couldn't be clean. In the text it states that" 1850 was hardship for anyone, but for working-class passengers, the conditions on a crowded ship were almost unthinkable". This shows how the environment the poor people are in is extreme. This is how the analogy reveal the conditions in the ship.

The analogy in paragraph helps readers understand the conditions people traveled in, as well as how it supports the author's tone, by showing how hard it was for the Chinese in their location. The analogy in paragraph 3 states "The poor people were herded in the hold of the ship like a flock of sheep, with no sanitation". This analogy helps reader understand their hardship in where they were living. There were no sanitation, and people in their location were poor. In the text, it states "Economic difficulties in China and some political unrest". This shows that China was in poverty and their economy was failing. That is how the analogy in paragraph 3 helps the readers understand the people's conditions in traveling.

The analogy helps the reader understand the conditions people traveled in by, saying that they do not have any public health from just the words "no sanitation. The text is stating "we can only guess at the mortality rate of these Chinese immigrants." That evidence states that these people are becoming a subject of death from the simple word "mortality." The text is stating that people will split in groups on certain weather conditions. The text states " The passengers were allowed on deck in small groups, but only when the weather was fair." The evidence being shown is supporting that the people were traveling with no public health because they had to travel in specific weather conditions. The analogy also supports the authors tone by,

The analogy helps reader to understand their conditions people traveled in because their condre very bad and unthinkable they also had no use of bathroom. It supports the author's tone because it show's how the poor people were treated bad. In the text it states "We can only guess at the mortality rate of these chinese immigrants who, likes their American counterparts, were traveling thousands of miles, lured by the promise of gold." This show's how the analogy helps the reader to understand their condition they traveled because they only came for the gold and due to them being poor it was a ruff trip with no restrooms. The text goes onto state "Ocean travel in 1850 was a hardship for anyone, but for working-class passengers, the conditions on a crowded ship were almost unthinkable." This show's how the analogy helps readers to understand there travel conditions because it was crowded and people must of felt overwhelmed.

The historical account states " The poor people were herded in the hold of the ship like a flock of sheep, with no sanitation."
