Moreover, the policies outlined on this timeline illustrate the strides the government has made post-1994, in developing the best education system. The abolishment of apartheid in South Africa in 1994 pushed for a much developed education policy by the new government. A Policy that would, dismantle apartheid structures and form a unified education system. As a result, consistent efforts are being made to make education accessible to all who were previously isolated, Marginalised groups are catered for through policies such as the “The Education White Paper 6 on Inclusive Education (2001)” and The SASA of 1996 Amendment Act, 2005 (Act 24 of 2005),mendating that Educator qualifications and values have been improved through the establishment of SACE and The Employment of Educators Act, 1998 (Act 76 of 1998) just to name a few. This has been done through the development of various Educational policies over the past Twenty Eight years. All of which have been specifically developed to address various educational barriers, to review current systems, to provide guidelines for various education authorities/stakeholders. These policies have also been included on this timeline as they are instructional materials, they offer solutions to teaching challenges and learning barriers. The policies are towards cascading assistance to educators so that effective teaching may take place, devoid of challenges. Additionally, to ensure learners are provided with the ultimate learning experiences with maximum opportunities. The knowledge content became a major focus  CAPS can be described as a restricted curriculum where the content to be taught, how it is to be taught and at what pace it is to be taught has been preset.

Teachers are given a handbook that specifies all of these details, including that of assessments and are expected to implement this curriculum in schools.

Teachers would, thus, need to know the content knowledge needed, how and when it should be delivered.

There will be further curriculum changes to the school education system, when time goes on, as expected.
