         <description><![CDATA[<div>Shrove Tuesday is also known as Pancake Day, another opportunity for the British to invent some strange events.</div><div>Carried out in the whole country, this competition expects to run along a certain path holding a pot with which to blow and masterfully turn the pancakes of course without letting them fall to the ground. Fortunately at the end of the race the reward is&nbsp; real pancakes,&nbsp; ready to be stuffed!</div>]]></description>

London stands on the River Thames in the south east of the island Great Britain.<br> It was founded by the Romans, who named it Londinium.<br> London is a world cultural capital. It is a leading global city in the arts, commerce, education, entertainment, fashion, finance, healthcare, professional services, research and development, tourism and trasportation.<br> London has diverse range of people and cultures, and more than 300 languages are spoken in the region.<br> The city of London is divided into 25 wards.<br> This city contains some World Heritage Sites: the Tower of London; Kew Gardens; the Palace of Westminster; Westminster Abbey; St. Margaret's Church; the historic settlement of Greenwich.<br> Other famous landmarks include: Buckingham Palace; the London Eye; Piccadilly Circus; St. Paul's Cathedral; Tower Bridge; Trafalgar Square and the Shard.<br> In London there are numerous cultural istitutions: British Museum; National Gallery; Natural History Museum; Tate Modern; British Library and other theatres.<br> London Underground is the oldest in the world.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>1It's an annual event that takes place during the spring party at Hill Cooper, near Glocester. This event belongs to the people of Brockworth, the local village, but now a lot of people coming from all over the world take part in the competition that is a crazy running to take a cheese wheel.          <description><![CDATA[<div>During the <strong>Tudor period</strong>, the <strong>Renaissance</strong> arrived in England.<br>Italian courtiers reintroduced artistic and educational debate from classical antiquity.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div><strong>Henry VIII&nbsp; </strong>incorporated his land <strong>Wales</strong> into the Kingdom of England.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>There were internal religious conflicts during the reigns of Henry's daughters.<br><strong>Mary I</strong> took the country back to Catholicism while <strong>Elisabeth I</strong> forcefully asserted the supremacy of Anglicans.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>The <strong>first English colony</strong> in the Americas was founded in <strong>1585,</strong> competing with Spain.<br>In <strong>1588</strong>, during the <strong>Elizabethan period</strong>, an English fleet under <strong>Francis Drake</strong> defeated the <strong>Spanish Armada.</strong></div><div><strong><br></strong>In <strong>1611 King James </strong>published the <strong>Authorised Version of the Holy Bible</strong>.</div><div>It was the standard version of the Bible and it’s considered the greatest masterpiece of literature in the English language with Shakespeare's works.<br><br><br></div><div>In <strong>1666 </strong>the <strong>Great Fire of London</strong> destroyed the City of London but it was rebuilt shortly afterwards with many significant buildings, amng which we remember St.Paul's Cathedral, designed by the famous architect sir Cristopher Wren.</div><div><br>Power shifts in east-central Europe led to <strong>World War</strong> the United Kingdom as part of the <strong>Allies</strong>, in <strong>World War II</strong>&nbsp; the United Kingdom was again one of the Allies.<br><br></div>]]></description>
