         <description><![CDATA[<div>Information should include:  <br>1. What is the scientific name of the plant? The onion's scientific name is Allium cepa<br>2. What type of plant is it? Green onion<br>3. Where did the plant originate from geographically? Scientists and archaeologists have concluded that the earliest traces of onions on earth was in central Asia. <br>4. What are the ideal environmental growing conditions? While planting onions they require full sun, well-drained/loose, and are hardy so they can endure cold temperatures. <br>5.  What is the length of time for maturity from seed? What is the length of time for maturity from regeneration? It is said to take only a week to show growth in the green onion, but there is no specific amount of time as to when they will be ready to harvest. <br>7. What are at least 3 Interesting facts about your plant?<br>1. Onions actually benefit your health. <br>2. Egyptians would worship onions and they would be involved in burial processions.<br>3. On average a person consumes 13.7 pounds of onion annually. Onions are very popular in Libya where each person consumes 66.8 pounds of onion per year. <br><br>Include pictures, videos, articles to answer these questions. </div>]]></description>
