In the recent Netflix documentary "Caitlyn Jenner: untold" (2021) we are taken on the journey of her self acceptance, where she opens up about the constant battle of gender dismoprhia she has faced and overcome throughout her life. We see her for her authentic self, for one of the first times she is given her very own platform to share her truth as a trans woman. Although in some sense a documentary style text involves lots of artificial production and editing, we cannot help but feel we are being opened up to the authentic Caitlyn Jenner.

GQ Typically holds a large emphasis on masculinity and what it is to be a man, which is evident from the masthead and inclusion of coverlines such as "'man's grooming guide" and "getting your body to shape". The tone of this magazine suggests there is a certain way in which to be masculine, implying that there is limitations to masculinity and how a man should and shouldn't act. Here Bruce is seen to take pride in his image, dressed in a smart suit with buttons undone revealing his chest hair - perhaps a deliberate attempt to show of more of those features that are thought to make one appear or become more 'manly'.

This collaboration is particularly interesting when placed in comparison to Brand endorsements that Bruce Jenner was a part of. MAC is a well known, global cosmetics brand that is likely known by the majority of women, weather or not they are first hand consumers of the brand itself or know it trough other avenue. Nevertheless, for this reason enough to state the claim that MAC itself acts as an embodiment of femininity and having Caitlyn Jenner as the face of this Brand is crucial for her 'new' star image as a woman.
